An Introduction to the Tales Series

lloyd.jpgThere are a bunch of RPG franchises out there. Actually, right off the top of my head I can name: Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Wild Arms, .hack, and Fire Emblem. However, one of the most important and influential RPG series has to be the Tales series of games by NamcoBandai. Over the course of a decade Namco has developed and released almost a dozen titles under this moniker, and within has brought a unique flair on the way RPG combat is handled.

Beginning next week, RPGhead.com will begin the first segment in it’s weekly issue detailing the Tales Series of RPGs. Each game will be detailed thoroughly enough to give you an idea of what the game brings to the table and why it was such an important game in the RPG genre. Every Wednesday you will get a new Tales game detailed and outlined for you. Only U.S. released Tales games will get detailed, although they might get a mention here and there. So be sure to check us out every Wednesday for a new game; starting with:

  1. Tales of Phantasia - (SNES, GBA)
  2. Tales of Destiny - PS1
  3. Tales of Destiny 2 - PS1
  4. Tales of Symphonia - GC
  5. Tales of Legendia - PS2
  6. Tales of the Abyss - PS2
  7. Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology - PSP
  8. The future of the Tales Series - (360, Wii)

I look forward to bringing you all up to date on this truly awesome series.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Shame Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is being made by a team of trainees in part time while Namco is wasting 90% of their so called team symphonia on a console that doesn’t sell in Japan, talk about stupidity.

At least back in the PS2 days… it made sense.
